Decker Land Surveying's Contribution to Quiet Meadows Solar Farms

Overview

Decker Land Surveying is proud to have played an integral role in the development and construction of the Quiet Meadows Solar Farm projects in Oneida County, New York. These two community solar farms, Quiet Meadows Solar Farm 1 and Quiet Meadows Solar Farm 2, collectively contribute 13.3 MWdc of clean, renewable energy to the local communities of Verona and Vernon.

Surveying & Pre-Construction Services

Our collaboration with EDF Renewables North America began with extensive surveying services to ensure precise planning and execution:

  • Boundary & Topographic Surveys – Conducted to assess land features and define project limits. These surveys played a key role in supporting the engineering and development process.

  • ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys – Ensured compliance with national standards and provided accurate land title information.

  • Lease Area & Easement Descriptions – Created detailed legal descriptions for land lease agreements and easements between the developer and landowner, ensuring clarity and accuracy for all stakeholders.

Construction Staking & On-Site Support

After receiving approvals from local municipalities, construction began, and Decker Land Surveying played a crucial role in site preparation and execution:

  • Staking Over 8,000 Piles – Precisely positioned for drilling and installation.

  • Roadways, Electrical, and Concrete Layouts – Ensured alignment with design specifications.

  • Fencing & Tree Areas – Marked designated zones for proper land use and project efficiency.

Collaborating with Industry Leaders

We worked closely with several key partners to ensure the success of the Quiet Meadows Solar Farms:

  • Sunstall – Assisted with the accurate placement of all solar panels based on our survey data.

  • O’Connell Electric – Led the electrical work on the project, installing all necessary infrastructure to connect the solar farm to the power grid.

  • Williams Fence and Excavating – Handled the fence installations, ensuring site security and compliance with project requirements. Williams Fence and Excavating is a leader in the renewable energy market, and we have collaborated with them on numerous solar farm projects.

Project Finalization & Transfer to Amp Energy

Upon project completion, Amp Energy acquired both solar sites. To finalize the transition, we conducted updated ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, documenting all improvements and easements associated with the project. This final step ensured that Amp Energy had reliable records for ongoing operations and asset management, including all land modifications and legal agreements established during development.

Commitment to Renewable Energy

The Quiet Meadows Solar projects showcase Decker Land Surveying’s commitment to supporting renewable energy initiatives through comprehensive, accurate, and professional surveying services. From initial site assessments to final documentation, our team ensured that every phase of the project remained on track and on schedule.

We take pride in our contribution to these solar farms, which not only provide clean energy to local communities but also reinforce the critical role of professional land surveying in the successful execution of large-scale renewable energy projects.
